Hillsborough Street

This prominent street is marked with numerous restaurants, coffee shops, banks, convenience stores, churches, and a variety of unique shops. Hillsborough Street links the town of Cary with downtown Raleigh and has an interchange to I-440.

I-440 / I-40 beltline

Location, Location, Location! The Wilmont is located inside the I-440 beltline. This area is convenient to everything Raleigh has to offer. I-440 provides express access to RTP, the RDU International Airport, Crabtree Valley Mall and North Hills Mall, and the RBC Center stadium complex. Raleigh’s major attractions, festivals, and museums are all located inside the beltline.

Museums

The NC Museum of Art hosts many events, movies, and special exhibits along with a permanent collection which is free to visit. The museum also has a 449-seat amphitheatre which features concerts and live performances. The NC Museum of History and the NC Museum of Science are side by side in downtown Raleigh and both offer free admission to the permanent collections, special exhibits, and educational features.

Cameron Village

A premier shopping area in Raleigh, Cameron Village currently has over 100 shops and restaurants, banks, grocery stores, and pharmacies along with a branch of the Wake County Public Library.

Five Points

This central location in Raleigh offers unique shops and restaurants. A highlight of the Five Points area is the Rialto Theatre. This vintage theatre retains the beauty of years past and shows foreign and independent films as well as the Rocky Horror Picture Show every Friday night.

NC State Fairgrounds

The NC State Fairgrounds offers amusement, entertainment, educational and business opportunities all year long. It features the Dorton Arena (a 7500-seat arena), a flea market, expos, a variety of shows and festivals, and of course the NC State Fair in October.

Glenwood South

This is one of Raleigh’s trendiest areas. Teaming with the latest shops and boutiques, restaurants, bars and clubs, Glenwood South is the place to be for young professionals' dining, shopping, and nightlife.

Pullen Park

This 72 acre public park was built in 1887. It features picnic areas, a baseball diamond and tennis courts, The Pullen Park Aquatic Center with an indoor swimming pool, adult and children’s classes at the Pullen Park Arts Center, paddle boats, concession stand, carousel, train ride, kiddie boat ride, and Theatre in the Park.

Raleigh Little Theatre

This community theatre produces 11 full productions each year and is also the location for adult and children’s theatre education. Notable performers of RLT are Andy Griffith, Clay Aiken, and Frankie Muniz. The Raleigh Rose Garden located outside of the Theatre includes 60 beds with 56 variety of roses. The garden may be reserved for special occasions.

JC Raulston Arboretum

This nationally acclaimed garden has a large and diverse collection of landscape plants adapted for use in the Southeast. The JC Raulston Arboretum is free and open to the public all year long.

NCSU, Meredith College, and Campbell Law School

All located on Hillsborough Street, these institutes of higher education are an integral part of the city of Raleigh. NC State University is the largest university in North Carolina and has an enrollment of more than 33,000 students and consists of 10 schools. Meredith College is a private liberal arts women’s college and is the largest women’s colleges in the Southeastern U.S. Recently relocated to downtown Raleigh, Campbell Law School is now in the same neighborhood as 125 law firms, nonprofit organizations and government agencies and is steps away from the legal and business heart of North Carolina.

Cameron Village Regional Library

One of the larger libraries in Wake County, Cameron Village Regional Library provides innumerable resources. Offering children, teens, and adult programs, book clubs, lectures, classes and volunteer opportunities this library is serves “To promote the love of reading and to foster the pursuit of knowledge for the residents of Wake County”.

Wake County Public Schools

All three base schools for this district (Olds Elementary, Martin GT Middle, and Needham B Broughton High schools) are part of the Wake County Public Schools Magnet Program providing innovative educational approaches for Wake County students.
